Another team is sent over to finish the job, they can't get their papers in order fast enough so they join an in this film, Tim Curry plays a small role as do the other actors, the stars are the primates who are actually humans in_ costumes with computer programmed faces so that they appear incredibly real, we have come a long way since "Planet of the Apes". This movie was filmed in Costa Rica at the base of an active volcano that kept interrupting shooting becapse there was a little more ps than they paid for. In the CONGO there was a group of telecommunications specialists looking for rare diamonds that could be turned pedition already in progress. This group of misfits make it over the Zaire border under military attack at every turn. They help return a tame "well spoken" gorilla back to the mist of the jungle. Everyone on this journey has their own personal agenda, one is returning the gorilla, one is looking for the lost city of "Zinge", one is looking for diamonds and one is looking for the first camp to see if there are any survivors. Of course the selfless people get what they came for and the greedy ones got what they.deserved. We chose to go to the theatre with the new Digital sound, what a difference. It was very exciting, (hey it doesn't take much). The sounds of the jungle were all around you, the birds were flying overhead, and the gorillas were surrounding you, the only thing missing was the heat and humidity, and that was. just fine. I will look for this new sound the next time, they show both kinds so pay for the digital sound instead.
