=~ 12 -- Scugog Citizen -- Tuesday, July 25, 1995 DAVID BISHOP Your Weekly stro Advisor July 26 - August 1 LEO: (July 23 - August 22) You are apt to engage in a very romantic relationship 'based principally on emotions. You may feel the need to secure your own feelings about yourself, through another pefson, thus you may try to increase your power of attraction whether consciously or subconsciously during the next few days. VIRGO: (August 23 - September 22) Your interest in religious or spiritual affairs is heightened, and you may fleunder with many philosophical questions. This is also a time of great emotion and unexpected opportunity. Relations with friends of the opposite sex could be a'great boon to you right now. LIBRA: (September 23 - October 22) Saturn lowers your motivation to get things done. Rather, this is an excellent time to spend with friends, making up for things they have done for you. Be careful not to daydream too much for you could lose many friends who rely on you greatly. Take care of the little 4 details. SCORPIO: (October 23 - November 22) You seem to be tuned into the thoughts and feelings of friends and family members. Interest in the mysticism or the occult is high, and To The Editor: Mr. Broadworth is confusing me. In rebuttal to my comments about Confederation he states it sprouted from "wealthy landowners who didn't feel like paying taxes". Not entirely correct, but I'll concede the point. Gee whiz they disliked paying taxes to even richer Lords and Barons an ocean away who had bilked and subjugated the Colonies for nearly three centuries. Again splitting hairs seems to be the result of your rationality. Please allow me to advise you that governments being run by the upper crust, wealthy, special interest groups and large business interests is absolutely nothing new. It is rather naive of you to \ state our sucessful history follows "stupid beginnings". The quest for profit has been the motivating factor for most of society's comforts and unfortunately most of our most shameful disasters. In you first letter you asked how to obtain family values? Now you admit to having them, albeit your your sympathies for others is great. You may be of dous help 10 an associate or ger b of your passi nature during the rest of the week. SAGITTARIUS: (November 23 - December 21) You find that you are tending to slow down and'become realistic about abilities and expectations for success. Your nature will most likely be very stoical now, as you take a serious attitude to just about all aspects of your life. This is an excellent time to sit down and get "things accomplished. CAPRICORN: (December 23 - "January 20) The moon's energy is bringing feelings to the surface. Your relationships with others, especially women, will be more harmonious. On a more mundane level, it's a good time to effect subtle changes in your personal life. Solidify friendships"Wwhile) gaining the affections of acquaintances. Pe j AQUARIUS: (January 21 - FebriaryT0) 1 « Be sure to think of others as well as yourself, espe ity with members of the opposite sex, for it is more beneficial-then paying attention to office gossip and romantic intrigue. If so, hardships at work can be created. Start concentrating on one thing at a time, brushing away the irrelevant. PISCES: (February 20 - March 19) Your creative thinking is enhanced. You may have new and promising ideas in work or business. This is the day to start'a new venture. On a more mundane level, it is an excellent day to write letters and go out and experience the world. Watch your impulsivity. Take the time to think out decisions. ARIES: (March 19 - April 21) ' s You display great mental q s. Sudden Pp 7 with a own of them. Webster defines "conception": A general | idea, a complex product of abstract or reflective thinking; the originating of something in the mind. Your last letter affirms that the * "important words here are 'my own conception." It is not me that has been shot in the foot over Moral Law. The point I made is that the definition of Family Values will be as different from household to household, race to race, religion to religion, indeed in every walk of life. We are not taught this in school, governments cannot legislate a concept. They are a part of the socia] fabric of society, an evolutionary process, entirely personal to each individual on the face of the Earth. And together they constitute Moral Law. My last letter was not all all reluctant to state my case. It was plain and straight to the point. At no time did I ever mention or refer to. Muslims, rock music, communist conspiracy but you certainly' have a need for classifying everything into some sort of order. I am also impress about your knowledge of m personal movie watching habits. Did I miss something? In Canada, Muslims are quite free to practice their religion, over 1/2 million people voted communist in our last Federal Election (thankfully they lost) and those of any sexual orientation are entirely free to do whatever they wish to do. How then, does any of this remove choice which you state is true crime. Every minority in our country has every personal right to do "their will, a fact I proudly boast. Furthermore, if this right is in any way offended I am also proud of the remedies in place, although I am dismayed when the punishment seems less than the crime. None of this is any threat to my Family Values. I rue the day when I will be, carded, finger printed, classified as a breeding member of society as well as taxed on my bedroom frequency, over protected by laws which favour some individuals more than others, and asked to listen to unrepentant people tell me what I really said or meant to say in translation. the Halls of Universities are bastion for righteousness of thedeft. They were in the 60's too! Don't tell me that you believe I said a minority doesn't deserve gitimacy. What I said is that a country ruled by the minorities wuld lead to chaos. I take it you djsagree with rule by referendum. The white minority of South Africa, a military backed annexation of Tibet, are just two examples, Right here in our own country we have a French minority wishing to split the country and yes they still have the right to do 80. These are real issues! Entrenchment of sexual orientation into our Constitution is a mighty pressing one. Serbian ethnic cleansing brings us to the verge of World War III and the thought of sending my son to war really upsets my Family Values. In plain language, this country or any democracy simply does not need redundant laws. It is an over- governed society, politicians wasting time and money that the majority has finally taken issue with and instead of dark and rainy, this may well result in sunny days for future generations. Thank-you, -M.W.
