Pe --_-- day, August 9, 1995 Musicians' Corn Roast on Sunday The Musicians', Corn Roast will take place on Sunday, August 13 from 2 pm to 8 pm, at the home of Paul and Charlene Wasson. This event is held annually in memory of Larry Dee, a fellow musician, who prematurely lost his life to heart disease. It will take place rain or shine. The musicians who will be appearing include: Paul Wasson and The Burnt River Band, Stetson, Sudden Storm, Chef Adams, Mike McGivern and Border Line Express, Carl Leitch and The Country Ramblers, Holly Thompson Band, Dottie Randall, Pat Ballard, Don McKown, and Ron Nagle. There will be something for ~ everyone; face painting, contests of all sorts, raffles, spot dances and more! The door prize this year is an acoustic guitar, donated by Long and McQuade of Oshawa. Advance tickets will be available for $4.00 each, or $5.00 at the door. Admission is free for children under 12. All money raised from admission and raffles will go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario in the memory of friends and loved ones lost. to Heart Disease. Ploneer Day Camp Gift/Craft Show at Arena The third Annual Port Perry Craft and Gift Show will be held Saturday August 12 and Sunday August 13 at the Scugog Arena, located at 1655 Reach Road in Port Perry. This show is organized and run by Ron and Sandy Cosway and is an annual event with attendance of more than 3,000 last year. The juried show of crafts and gifts attracts vendors from Ontario and Quebec as well as many local artisans. It has been fully booked since early spring with a waiting list of vendors who are anxious to participate. Stencilled canvas bags, porcelain dolls, painted slate, hand crafted wooden furniture, dridd floral arrangements, teddy bears, ceramics, candles, handfade potpourri, chair pads, placemats, jewellery, afghan jackets, children's clothing, hand appliqued sweatshirts and jackets, award winning jams and jellies, floral wreaths, hand painted clothing, stained glass, handcrafted punched tinware, quilts, country store items, handmade baskets, hand painted tinware and many more items too numerous to mention will be available.
