TUESDAY, AUGUST 29th Emsmememamswmew, ds to By the Book by David S. Daniels JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL The story is told of an astronomer watching the setting sun. As the sun settled over the horizon the top of a distant hill came into view. On that hill was an apple orchard. The astronomer, noticing movement on the hill, observed two boys sneaking into the orchard. One boy stood watch while the other climbed a tree to pick some apples. Though they sincerely believed they had entered the orchard, stolen the apples, and made their get-a-way totally unseen, some seven miles away an astronomer had watched their every move. We often travel through life blissfully unaware that we are being observed by others. Children are' watching their parents, co-workers or friends are watching us. And even in times of solitude, when we are alone, there is still someone watching us. OSLA, BC-HIS Western University. Hearing Assessment rescription and and former clients with be Christine Vanderniet, Y SERVICES well aware that the eternal God sees evefyone and everything everywhere at all times. The fact that we are unaware of God's all- seeing 'eye does not negate its truth for one minute. There is a proverb from ancient Israel which says, "The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good" (Proverbs 15:3 NIV). Three basic truths flow from this proverb: God can see; God can see everywhere; and God is always keeping watch over the wicked and the good. Knowing that the eternal God is always aware of the good and the evil occurring in this life is a comfort for the believer. It is a reminder that a day of justice will come, even if we do not see it in our own lifetime. With this basic truth firmly under our belt, we can face the injustices of life without growing bitter and cynical. When we discover someone has slandered us, we can rest confident that God knows and that he will take corrective action at the proper time. Knowing God is aware of all that occurs, both good and bad, helps us resist becoming vengeful people. While we may struggle to let wrong go answered; especially wrong directed at us, remembering that God keeps perfect records and will administer perfect justice one day helps to restore a sense of stability and tranquility in our lives. In a society denying the existence of absolute truth and the reality of a final judgment, relegating God to the private musings of the religious, it is good to be reminded God is there, He is aware of events on this planet, and He will enact justice, both for the good and the evil. {ie | (Highway 12 at Myrtle) * Red Haven Peaches | [n Season Now!
