TAYLOR, Warren ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ At Lakeridge Health Oshawa on March 25, 2022 Warren William Taylor of Bowmanville passed away at the age of 82 from complications after falling at home and breaking his hip. He is survived by his wife Carol, brother Brian and daughters Sandra Kanaby, Angela Christie (Eric) Mary Kaye Doucette(Terry) and their Mother Mae, grandchildren, Kelvin and Karlee Kanaby and Laylah Marie Oliver. Warren was born in Mimico, Ontario on September 5, 1939 to Russell and Edith (Haines). Shortly after his birth his Dad enlisted in the Air Force during WWII and was stationed as a pilot in Labrador. After the end of WWII and the death of his father William Ambrose, the family sold the home in Port Credit and the Humber Hotel in Mississauga and the family moved to Cobourg, Ontario where they purchased the New Dunham Hotel. It didn't take long to become involved in Cobourg when Warren and Brian accompanied by Dad on the piano, sang 'Brush those tears from your Eyes' to raise funds for an artificial ice surface. Both boys were very active in Cobourg playing baseball and hockey making many long time friends. Warren also joined the Cobourg Air cadets. In 1959 Warrens baseball team won the Cobourg Kiwanis Juvenile Hardball Championship. They sold the hotel in 1956 and the family moved to Peterborough. Warren decided to remain in Cobourg and was employed for many years at the TD Bank and was transferred to numerous banks in Ontario. Warren moved to Oshawa and was employed for many years as a supervisor at Gen Auto Shippers and AWC. Warren and Carol enjoyed their camper trailer for many years with friends at numerous Lakes in Ontario. As were Warren's wishes cremation has taken place entrusted to Newcastle Funeral Home. His ashes will be interred at Rosemount Gardens alongside his parents. PRUESSE, Hans Albert ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022, in his 81st year. Loving husband of the late Sharon Pruesse of 50 years. Cherished father of Brent (Laura), Eric and Jeff (Sarah). Proud Opa of Shelby (Johnathon), Corey, Courtney, Nolan, Justin, and Sophie. He will be fondly remembered by extended family and friends. TOPLEY, Joy "Joyce" (nee Thompson) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Passed away suddenly on March 28, 2022, in Cobourg Hospital at the age of 89. Born May 14, 1933, in Belfast Ireland. Predeceased by husband Anthony "Tony" Topley, parents Elizabeth and Samual Thompson and brother Gordon. Survived by her best friend Joyce Rankin in England, a cherished sister-in- law Linda Topley, nieces Victoria and Laura, a nephew Graham Thompson in Scotland and a goddaughter, Barbara Pliva. Joyce was a Chartered Accountant and worked in the Financial District in Toronto. She loved animals and always had a rescue cat; she also loved the Prim Rose Donkey Sanctuary where she would feed and talk to visitors about the donkeys. She was a supporter to the Donkeys and to wildlife organizations. Both Joyce and her husband Tony were involved with Model Railway Clubs and Toy Clubs. She was a volunteer and worker for Community Care in Bowmanville. She will be missed by many and fondly remembered by neighbours and friends. Joyce did not want a funeral service and will be cremated. Interment will take place at Bond Head Cemetery on May 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. all are welcome.
