Durham police report that the 30-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a falling tree in Ganaraska Forest at around 3 p.m. May 21. The storm caused extensive damage across Durham Region. The storm brought down trees and power lines, ripped roofs from buildings, flipped over cars and uprooted massive old trees. Some homes are uninhabitable and many businesses sustained damage.
