She immigrated to Canada in 1953 as a young woman in her early 20's with her parents, Santino and Gina and younger siblings Pasquale and Giulio. It was here that she met her beloved partner for life, Mike Labriola, and was married to him for 68 years. She was the proud mother of Adeline (Pelosi) and was even more proud to be called "Nonna Cia" by her two granddaughters, Marilu (Marshall) and Laura (Franco). She will also be missed by her great grandchildren Tommy, Charlie, and Henry (Marshall) and Isabella and Jamie (Franco) who knew her by no other name than "Nonna Cia". Sadly, missed by her brothers Giulio/Tony (Mary), Pasquale/ Pat (Marisa)and her sister Filomena (Fiorino deceased) of Veroli, Italy and loved by nieces, nephews, and friends. Lucy was a woman who was immensely proud to live in Canada and from the day she landed here, she worked extremely hard to help provide for her daughter. Lucy enjoyed hours upon hours working in her garden growing her tomatoes and bountiful bright green basil. She could be found in her kitchen, with her back turned, at the stove, stirring a huge pot of sauce, always ready and waiting for all the visitors, who always left with full tummies of wine and pasta and the latest new stories. Lucy will now be able to reunite with Mike where they can eat their cereal with coffee, and prosciutto and cheese and he will be waiting for her at the pearly gates in a shiny red Ferrari! Gone is the face we loved so dear, silent is the voice we loved to hear; too far away for sight or speech, but not too far for thought to reach, sweet to remember you who once was here, and who, though absent, is just as dear. May the winds of love blow softly and whisper so you'll hear; we will always love and miss you and wish that you were here. We are sad within our memory, lonely are our hearts today; for the one we loved so dearly has forever been called away. We think of you in silence, no eye may see us weep; but many silent tears are shed when others are asleep. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep, I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glint on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.
