Whether you're looking to grab fries at an old school chip truck or head to a spot with a bunch of food trucks in one place, Durham has options in every corner of the region. CLARINGTON Food Truck Alley, located at 1967 Taunton Rd. E., has seven trucks on site for the 2022 season. You can find Mexican, Greek, Italian and Caribbean food at Food Truck Alley as well as burgers, fries and funnel cakes. The line up is: The Sandwich King Funnel Hut, Opa'z, Cantina's Mexicano, It's Fryday, Cascone's Homemade Italian Foods, and King's Finest Food. Jr's Handmade Sourdough Pizza located at 181 King St. E. in Bowmanville is a popular spot known for its classic pizzas and unique creations like the Dill Pickle Pizza. Right next door, you can find Hanc's Fries, which has been serving Bowmanville for more than 50 years. OSHAWA/WHITBY Food Truck Corral Oshawa, located at 2867 Bridle Rd. opened in 2021. This is the second season for the popular spot where trucks serve everything from perogies to wood-oven pizza. This season's options include: Masala Box, Lowlands Fire Food, Watt a Fry; Pierogi Bros., Bourbon Street Chicken Truck, Shahs of Shawarma, Scotty's Smokin Sliders, Sonya's Street Meat, Island Grill GTA and Sweet Dreams Desserts. Batoota's Food Truck at 381 Taunton Rd. E. serves up a menu of Canadian, Dutch and Egyptian food, and across the street G'Molly's Fries at 540 Taunton Rd. E. has fresh cut fries and unique poutines -- including dill pickle poutine. In Whitby, Fabulicious Funnel Cakes whips up funnel cake creations like apple pie funnel cake and unicorn funnel cake topped with cotton candy -- you can find the truck at 419 Dundas St. E. PICKERING/AJAX Happy Grillmore's Food Truck at 57 Notion Rd. in Ajax is known for fresh cut fries and homemade burgers, while Cocodrilo Tacos and Hotdogs at 250 Kingston Rd. E. in Ajax was "born out of a passion for Mexican food." Tortillas are made fresh daily and the tacos are popular. Ebony Bites can be found stationed outside Falcon Brewing Company at 30 Barr Rd. in Ajax, allowing customers to pair dishes like jerk chicken Caesar salad or sweet and spicy chicken wings with craft beer from the brewery. In Pickering, the Beach Chip Truck is right by the waterfront at 591 Liverpool Rd. and the burgers, fries and wraps are fan favourites at Chewy's Grill at 980 Brock Rd. NORTH DURHAM Roosters Fries at 702 Durham Regional Road 13 is a popular spot in Leaskdale "serving up Canadian classics all summer long." You can find fresh cut fries, fish and chips and bison burgers with meat from a local farm. In Port Perry, Weenie Shack has gourmet hot dogs -- including "Ontario's Hottest Hot Dog -- along with "lily pad" fried pastries at 15829 Simcoe St. and Fran's Frys is the go-to chip truck on Scugog Island at 16121 Island Rd.
