Papenfas, a South African Boer, who has announced his entry in the Cana- dian National Exhibition marathon swim, has been training in Lake On- tario near here. Albert Ortlett and who came to Canada from South Africa With him last March, are acting as his trainers. The three are employed as attendants at the Ontario Hospital in New Toronto. Papenfas was an officer cadet at the Royal Military College at Robert Heights, Pretoria. He is a former pu- pil of Philip Nel, the long-distance swimming champion of South Africa.
