"Mayor Preston's efforts in this matter of local hydro rates are to be commended." At the recent Council meeting the suggestion was made that ward meetings should be held to arouse the public in the matter of hydro rates, in the hopes that the City Council 'would thereby find it expe-| iient to appoint a strong commit- tee charged with investigating the matter impartially, but with the best interests of Oshawa's industrial and domestic power consumers kept con- stantly in mind. ] The subject will again ge borught to the Council's attention on Mon- day night and, as public opihion in favor of am efficient investiga- 'ion gathers strength, it is consid- ered likely that the aldermen will either appoint the commitee or em- sower the mayor to name it. .
