Bilton on Saturday, when a num- ber of their friends gathered to- gether to celebrate the twenty-fifth annivarsary of their wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Bilton were presented with a beautiful silver casserole, then the evening was made pleasant with dancing, singing and playing cards. --A very jolly evening was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Gillard, 250 Court street on Friday night, celebrating their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. Cards were played during the evening and Mr. G. Russell won the first prize while Mr. J. Goyne won the second prize for the gentlemen. Mrs. J. Goyne captured the first prize for the la- dies, and Miss G Gillards ived the second prize. After the gdmes, lunch was served, then Mrs. L. Gil- lard presented Mr. and Mrs. Gil- lard with a beautiful pair of candle- sticks on behalf of their many friends, while Mrs. Goyne read an address. Many other gifts of pyrex and silver from the members of the Oakleigh lodge were given to the happy couple, while a beautiful flcor lamp was received from the family. The rest of the evening was spent in dancing. Mr. and Mrs. Gil- lard were married in Grace church, Montreal, on November 3rd, 1902. They have been residents of Osha- wa for 15 years. DeMille officiated while Mr. H, | TWO ARE FINED FOR INEBRIATION Two men, who tried to celebrate Thanksgiving a little too freely, paid fines in Police Court this morning when they appeared before Magis- {Tate A. George Koehan was fined $20 and $9.50 costs or 30 days in jail for being in an in- toxicated condition, while John Harakal, charged with assaulting Koehan and occasioning actual bod- fly harm was taxed $10 and $13.50 costs. The two men were arrested on Front street about 8.30 last even- ing in the midst of a real fistic mix- up, and locked up for the night to aive them a chance to cool off. Koehan carried a beautiful speci- men of a discolored eye which was completely closed, and apparently fhe liquor had made him feel a lit- tle wild, so the other occupants of the cells did not get much peace. When they were arraigned in court this morning both men pleaded «uilty to the charges, but it was brought out by the crown that Koehan had been in rather the worse condition of the two and had appar- ently been the aggressor, so Harakal was let off with the minimum on the charge.
