Three round trips were the spice of the play, Smith and Osborne twirled for the Whiz boys, and Lunney pitched for the Foundry. The next game will be on Monday evening, when Front Street meet the High School, to see a friend at the Cream of Bar- ley Camp. Goodyear siding at seven o'- clock, with over five hundred fam- ilies entrained. The special stopped at Newcastle and Port Hope, and a specially chartered boat, the "On- tario" of the Cobourg-Rochester Steamship Line, took the frolicmak- ers across the lake, A large pro- gram of sports has been prepared, and many novelty stunts were sche eduled for the boat trip, as well as several mystery numbers. A few clowns also were on the boat, On arrival at the docks, the party is being taken to Ontario Beach Park by chartered buses. T. H. Seed, the managing director declaring that it was to the financial interest of the company, said: "The time has come when we must throw patriotism to the winds, We are ruled by trade unions, and most of their rules are unreasonable." He suggested that vessels should be run under the Latvian flag, and said that at least a dozen companies in Newcastle were running under the Latvian flag, . There would be considerable saving -in wages and they could save about $7,500 a year per boat, Mr, awson, another director, said: "I can say without hesitation from experience lasting more than 25 years that foreign manned vessels are 500 per cent, better than British manned vessels." Num- bers of people took tea there, some coming from Bowmanville and sev- eral from Oshawa, The ladies of the roup served a very appetizing tea, fhe first course being pressed veal, potato salad, cabbage salad decorated with pickled cherries and bread and butter, Afterwards a good serving of delicious cake, tea and biscuits. The proceeds amounted to over $25. On Thursday, Mr, Sam Trick, of Oshawa, took some of his old friends on a trip north to Norland, his old home. Mr, Cameron Trull and Mr, Wm. Mutton, Oshawa, and Mr, Blake Courtice and W. R.
