Hardly redlizing what she migsed about her affair, Connie grew more and more dissatisfied and unhappy. Torrey promised to bring Romance to her and arranged to take her to {a masked dance at the Country Club the following weak. But, as had happened before, busi- ness of a very Important nature came between Merton and his epgage- ment and he was forced to telephone Connie his regrets at the last minute, Connie decided to go to fhe dance alone. At the dance were Bob Rennes- dale, just arrived from Pery; Jim Kernochan, a young chap home from college and Doctor Sherman Moss, newly arrived in Garyville from th city nearby and rather scornful of Garyville "taboos," He had already expressed his admiration for Connie, both to her and to others. All three of these men were in domino cos: tume, and were about of a height. As Connie stood on the porch, one of the domino clad men kissed her. She starts to find out who the man is. She finally settles on Moss, Torrey very soon saw in what di- rection Connie's affections were drift- ing, and, unselfishly put a good posi- tion into Doctor Moss' hands. Moss was delighted at having landed the big job, and was willing to marry everyone, ¢ But Connie's mother had | a strong-willed way, thought discretion the better part of | valor. Ever since Jiggs made his debut on the stage he has been a universal favorite. This season Jiggs has de- cided to take a rest--a sort of res- pite from the turmoil of what his friends and even his enemies de- clare to be a volcanic existence. Just how a man of Jiggs' tempera- ment and good nature can carry out such a "rest" forms one of the best foundations for incessant fun that this generation has seen or heard. At any rate, it may be better ima- gined, still, Martin theatre for one night, Fri- day, Nov, 10th, is entitled "Father on His Vacation".
