The result was, that of the twelve league games played- by. each' team in the league, that is, Brooklin, Blackstock, Scugog, and Port Perry, Port Perry won ten out of twelve, and Brooklin won seven out of twelve games. That leaves Port Perry in first place, and Brooklin second, Scugog third, and Blackstock fourth. This is the first R. Milne, Miss Mar- REGATTA A large crowd of people enjoyed the hospitality of Caesarea cottagers on Civic Holiday, Owing to the roughness of the water the sea flea races were not held, but other races were run off as scheduled and the many beautiful cups were presented to the winners at the annex to Ken: osha Inn on Monday evening, Point winners for the day were Bruce Lawrie winner in men's events with eleven points, and Edith Caster, winner for women 'with nine points. All events were interesting, because the' many entries made competition keen, but probably the best, from the spectators' viewpoint, was the tilting contest, won by Caldwell 'and Leary, with Dids and Buffer Réeves second. ANOTHER AUTO ACCIDENT On" Sunday morning Mr. Edward Tripp, of Toronto, was driving a Hud- | son Eight near Saintfield when a front tire burst and the car was badly damaged in the turnover that followed. With Mr. Tripp were his wife and Mr. Neelands. All the occupants of the car were hurt, but Mrs. Tripp is suf- fering from a wrenched back. . iN NY PATIENTS ARE RECOVERING After being unconscious for a num- ber of days, Miss Gray, who was in- pured in an auto accident south of Manchester, regained consciousness on Tuesday morning of this week. The Women's" Association will hold their August meeting next Tuesday, the 16th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Crozier. A very interesting program is being prepared. Let us all be present. Mrs. Geo. Sweetman has started something new in her Bible Class. It is to make an Autograph Album of the sayings of the character mention- ed in the lessons for the quarter. And it will end with a contest, the winner to receive the Album. It means the lessons will be well studied and will be very interesting. Rev. 'Mr. Denny, of Epsom, was in charge of the services here last Sun- day, and left us several things to think about. Mr. and Mrs. J. Aldred and Mr. Norman Aldred attended the Warden's picnic at Cannington park on Monday, and to be present at the opening of the new cement road leading to the highway. 'Premier Henry cut the rib- bon and officially declared the road open. The. Warden, Mr. Johnston, of Cannington, Mr. McGibbon, of Osh- awa, and Mr. W. E. N .Sinclair, K.C., M.P.P.,, were present, and spoke. The ladies provided a banquet in the even- ing, and a very enjoyable time was spent. : Miss B. Joness is accompanying her brother, Mr. Joness, as far as King- ston, on his way to his home 'in Washington, D.C., after visiting his sister Mrs. J. Joblin. The Epsom Football boys and the Scugog boys have played two games, and won one each. Both teams go.to Brooklin on Thursday, August 10th for their Field Day. Our Boys' Softball team played with Port Perry at Port Perry Field Day, on Monday and won by 7-6. The game was a tie when Milton Demara came | to bat and made a homer, winning the game for Scugog. The Girls' Softball team played with Blackstock and lost by one run. Port Perry boys came down and played a league game on August 1st, and lost to the tune of 22-6, but they were. good sports and played the re- turn game on August 4th, in Port Perry, when the tables were turned, and Port won by 15-10. This gave Scugog first and Blackstock second. The play-off will be between Black- stock and Scugog. - Misses B. Joness, Luella Jeffrey, Inez Fralick, Ivah Milner, Aileen Sweetman, Helen Carter, attended the Girls' Conference at Uxbridge last week, and all report a very enjoyable time.
