They are -a beautiful display and give evidence of the constant and skilful care which Mr. Heayn has bestowed upon them. It takes time and work to keep these lovely flowers at their best through the long dry spells which our Canadian climate provides. But the result of this care is most pleasing to flower lovers. . * * * Another beautiful collection of dahlias is that of Mr. W. H. Harris, who keeps them on the roadside where everyone may see them. Mr. Hall, his next door neighbour, also has some beauties. Ce eo MARRIED McLean-Ingram At Toronto, on Monday, August 26 1935, by Rev. G. A. Fred Waite and Mrs. Waite, Mrs. Johnston and Mr. Johnston, her son, lett Port Perry, on Monday morning for their home in Limerick, Sask. Rev. Mr. Waite has been sup- plying the United Church pulpit in the absence of Rev. Mr. Smyth. His services have been much appreciated. While in Ontario Mr. Waite and his party had a good opportunity to com- pare local conditfons with those in the West, and they were very favorably impressed with "the material and social advancement made in the older Province. . Very noticeable is the growth of trees and grass. A thoughtful comment on religious conditions was made when. Mr. Waite observed that the pioneers of Ontario faced hardship and poverty when they were settling the country. As a con- sequence home became very dear to them, and they built in the many districts schools and churches.. In the West things were different. There was no hardship of land 'clearance. The plowman was almost immediately 1ewarded whti bountiful harvest and wealth. Money making became all important. Education and religion were of secondary consideration.
