Asher were driving along 'the ~~ highway just west of the village, when| . his car skidded or: the icy road, ran into the ditch, and there struck a stone. <The result was that Mr, Asher suffered a badly cut wrist and ear, and Mrs. Asher was badly shaken up. The car was damaged. ICY ROADS Sunday night was a bad time for driving. The hill to Borelia became icy in a very short time, and cars slithered and slid beyond control. The bus was held up about an hour or more. Fortunately no one was hurt in this mix up. ENGAGEMENT The engagement is announced of Mary Beatrice, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Blake Walker, of Winnipeg, and granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Thos. Walker, of St. John, N.B,, to Dr. Geo. H. Ryan, of Winnipeg, eldest son of Mr, and Mrs. A. E. Ryan, of Rosser, Man. Colton and Miss Mamie McLaren of Port Perry. About forty enjoyed the hot supper. The tables were decorated with smal evergreen trees and artificial snow. Mrs. Carter and Mrs. R.
