Signs that are in pre- paration for tomorrow. Spring is just at our door, the birds are twittering in the branches, ice and snow are fast disappearing and the sun gains in power day by day. ' In view of the state of turmoil in Euvope and Asia the nations are pre- paring, for as the Good Book says, if -the strong man of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming he would have watched and not have suffered his house to have been broken into and hi§ goods stolen. So the nations are preparing and watching to be ready for the evil day. No nation should depend on the promise of its neighbour each should be prepared to stand upon its own feet and to defend its frontiers, to be "self reliant and not parasites. Prosperity is upon us, it is even closer than just around the corner. . Are you prepared? Already it is very| evident that the supply of skilled labour is fast diminishing, employers of labour are anxiously wondering how the vast orders that prosperity will bring are going to be filled. They are much concerned about the ques- tion: How the depleted ranks of labor can be brought to full strength to meet the situation. To young people of today the slogan is: "Be prepared". The great question is not: "How shall I ever make a living?" but "For what occupation am I best fitted that I may make the best use of the talents with which I am endowed?" So the in- junction to all those who hope for a prosperous career is: Do not lament the yesterdays that are past, but be prepared today so that the golden op- portunities may be grasped that wait at your very door. tl Pe PORT PERRY UNITED CHURCH 11 a m.--Morning Worship. 1.45 p.m.~--Men's Class and Forum. 2.46--Sunday School. 7 p.m.--*"Nathanael--a man without guilt."
