BERT MacGREGOR SEAGRAVE On Thursday evening, October 28, the Seagrave Y. P. Union held a mas- querade in the Sunday School room. Although there were not many in costume those who were certainly en- joyed keeping the others guessing as to their identity, Mr. Cassie ably assisted' Miss Frise in conducting the games which were original and well- planned.--~ After trying 'to carry a pumpkin on- one's head and making witches out of chewing gum, the cos- tumes were judged by Rev. J. Me- Lachlan and Miss Frise.- The prizes were awarded as follows: Fancy Dress--Norma Abraham as an old- fashioned Granny. Comic--Marion Eagleson as Robinson Crusoe. Child- ren's Prizes--Mildred Store, fanay costume; Marjorie McCoy, a little old lady. Following several other games lunch was served by the committee in charge. A vote of thanks for the suc- cess of the evening, was moved to Miss Frise and her helpers, after whigh the National Anthem was sung. Our young people journeyed to Cam- eron on Friday night where they pre- sented their play "Up: the Hill to " Patadise" before an appreciative aud- The Cameron people assured doubly assured them we enjoyed their supper. This week the play is being given at Bethesda on Wednesday night and Blackstock on Friday. The following week they are going to Scugog where it is to be presented in the Head Church on Tuesday night, November 9th. Who's next? We are sorry to report that Mr. Melville Moase, teacher at Bethel, has been sick the past week. We hope he will soon be able to be back on the job. The children of Seagrave and vicinity made the village lively with their Hallowe'en pranks on Saturday night. But: it was all in fun and no one objected. RE Mr. and Mrs. O. Stone spent Sun- day with the latter's brother Mr. C. Hood in Oshawa. Mr. Jack McLachlan has accepted a position with the Bank of Toronto, in Peterborough. Good luck to you Jack but we will miss you: Mrs. M. McMillan, Jr., Mascine and Aileen, Mrs. Wm. "Short and Ross, have returned after a pleasant visit with rélatives at Woodstock. Mr. Reid McFarlane of Toronto, spent the week-end at his home here. Mrs. Stillburn of Regina, who has been visiting with Rev. and Mrs Mec- Lachlan at the Parsonage, left on Monday for her home. Mrs. Tanner who has been visiting with her daughter Mrs. F. Jennings of Toronto, has returned home. On Sunday evening a male quartette accompanied by Mrs. R. Scott, went to | Manchester to assist in the service of song at the anniversary services there. The quartette was composed of Mr. C. W. Moon, Mr. Glenn Wannamaker, My, Joe Granham and Mr. Reg. Owles. Our minister, Rev. J. McLachlan, was also at Manchester Sunday evening taking the anniversary service there, Rev, W. E. Honey of the Myrtle Cir- cuit, took the evening service at Sea- grave.
