D> PY > [9 FOR A AND PRO - | Hockey News Many people have been wondering what is happening in the hockey world of Port Perry. Here it is, direct from the "side-lines." Port Perry will be represented in, the Intermediate "B" O.H.A. hockey by a fast and strong team this year, The boys have been practising for the last few nights and are rounding into ex- cellent form. We are calling them for group honours this year. With the majority of last years team on hand and the addition of a few new players at all the practises, the "side-liners" predict a very strong, fast team for the 1937-38 season. The position of goal-keeper seems to be divided between Butson and Hood. Butson, with the more ex- perience, is good. Hood is improving very fast, and is coming into form faster than expected. We can rely on Abe and Jim Cawker for a strong defence. Jim is "bruis- ing harder than ever (just ask one of the boys.) Harry and Bert 'eShane are flying high and can certainly still do their stuff. Bill Heayn is still play- ing the brand of hockey that carried the Port juniors to many victories in past years. The other boys are cer- tainly turning it on, and look good to us. We call Gordon Hood, of Scugog Is- land, the outstanding "rookie'y Hood is perhaps a little light and' young, but hg has speed and ability, 'which is do not necessarily call him to make a regular position this year, but he is good. With some experience this year, watch him on the "regulars" next year. Watch for the grouping, schedule for the coming season and the date of the big exhibition game in next week's Star. i .
