This added pleasure has been made possible through the generosity of Mr, C. C. Jeffrey, who has had a loud speaker 'system installed in the church to convey the chimes from the organ to the tower, and thence out over the countryside. 1.O.D.E. DANCE A most enjoyable evening was spent in the auditorium of the Port Perry High School, on Friday, December 27, when the Scugog Chapter of the 1.0. D.E. were hostesses at their annual New Year's Dance. The dancers were enthusiastic in their praise of the rhythmic music supplies by Ragnar Steen and his red- coated orchestra. Immediately after the serving of supper in the gymnasium everyone re- turned to the assemly hall and sang many old favorite songs while they marched around the room in double procession, A highlight of the evening was the floor show, Miss Peggy Mountenay. of Oshawa, was dressed in comic costume and sang "I'm the Belle of Hopkin's Corners", "Oh Johnny!" was the en- core. | Her sister, Miss Doris Mountenay, by Mrs. Z.
