Doyle, retired manager, died at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, atter a prolonged illness, He had been a resident of 'l'oronto since his retirement in 1939, Born in Brock Township, Mr. Doyle attended Uxbridge High School and rort Perry Model School. After teach- mg a few years, he entered the service of the Western Bank at Pefferlaw, later becoming manager. Continuing with the bank following amalgamation with the Standard, and eventually the Canadian- Bank of Commerce, Mr, Doyle was manager also of branches at Wellesley, St. Clement's, New Ham- burg and Brechin, -While - at New Hamburg ~he--was .member of the hockey team executive, and during residence in Brechin was -un enthusiastic supporter of the Sun- derland baseball team. He was a member of St. Basil's Roman Catholic Church and tormerly associated with the Knights of Columbus. EVA CO. The opening meeting for, the fall of the Afterrioon Auxiljary of the W.M.S. was held on Tuesday, Sept. 9, in the sthool room of the church. "The presi- 'dent, Mrs. Thompson, presided over the opening' worship service and the business period. An interesting article on stewardship was read by Mrs. G. Davey. Mention -was made of the Sectional Rally. to be held in Green- wood, on October 29th, and of the .younger group affiliated with the afternoon Auxiliary, which was recent- ly formed. Mrs. Koch's group then took charge of the worship service and introduged the study for the ensuing year. Scripture was read by Mrs. N. Baird and prayer offered by Mrs: Thompson.
