Opening the proceedings was a sumptuous dinner, where wild duck, and even turkey were served and eaten with the relish of good sportsmen. There were a number of visitors present at, that dinner, including Dr. McClintock, and Mayor Robt.. Harris, of Uxbridge; and Messrs. McCartney and Smith of the Department of Lands and Forests. . "Mr. Arthur Brock presided, and the program was opened with words of welcome by the chairman and a sing- song led by Dr. G. M. Rennie. The Uxbridge visitors, Mayor Har- ris and Dr. McClintock, were called upon, and spoke briefly, commending and Gun Club. Mr. spoke of local conditions and sibilities. Mr. McCartney, representative of the Department of Lands and Forests, was the principal speaker. He gave "a very informative address on fish ~ propagation and conservation. The fact that the "lunge caught in Scugog waters in recent years are of large size (30 to 35 Ibs.) showed clearly that the young spawn did not mature. Naturally this statement brought up the subject of how to get rid of the Carp. Pictures, shown by Mr. Smith, told the whole story from hatching to the time when the fish were old enough to take care of themselves. Something was also told about water levels--always a moot question in Port Perry. Game Warden Ben Smith gave some account of his work in this district, but gave the impres- sion that there was not much cause for complaint, as the law 'was pretty well observed. Two trophies were presented--one by President Arthur Brock, for the largest lunge, annual competition. The other presentation was by Mr, O. '0. You will find a letter from Mus. Ingram in another column 'which gives a first-hand description of the course, which we are sure you will find of interest. We might add that those librarians who obtain a certifi- cate are entitled to ask for increased remuneration and in turn the library employing a librarian who holds a certificate 'will receive a larger annual grant from the Department. * On Wednesday last the 'class ad- journed at three o'clock and proceeded by motor car to Port Perry to visit our library where they were met by the members of the Board, and after instruction, were conducted through the building. They were immensely taken with what they saw and it would do our citizens good to have heard the compliments which :flowed like a river from. one -and all, : They were intrigued 'with the Community Room which was a revelation to them and each one is taking a story back to her home town. After all had been shown, the ladies of the Board served light refreshment, then, as the sha- dows were falling, good-byes were ex- changed and our visitors took to their motors carrying with them, we hope, a pleasant recollection. On our part this visit will long be remembered and as for the Librarian Class we feel sure it is a good move and wil lbe profitable by increasing Library service. the proceeds. Ww. On Sunday morning at the Church of the Ascension was held the annual Coroprate Communion of the Woman's Auxiliary. This was a Dominion-wide occasion when all the members unite in spiritual fellowship with all sister workers throughout the Church of England in Canada. An unique event in the service here was the installation "of officers and admittance to membership for the evening branch of the Woman's 'Aux- iliary, In what was described by a member of the congregation as 'a very touching ceremony", each of the officers of the Evening Branch took her pledge of office, and then all the members corporately accepted mem- bership- in the Branch:and promised through prayer, work and example 'o fulfill the purposes of the society. This part of 'the service was aptly concluded with the recitation: by. all W.A. members of "the "Members Prayer", 17 WANTED--One pair of girl's skates and boots, size 6, Mrs, H. W.
