Beatty, in town. Mrs. J. B. Lundy, is spending the week with her daughter, Mrs, D. F. Jackson, in Toronto. Dr. G. H. and Mrs. Jackson, Union, N.J., are spending a month with the former's mother, Mrs, 4. M. Jackson, Mr. Lloyd Wakeford, of Toronto, is holidaying in town for a week, Mr. and Mrs, Bell-Smith and family of Toronto, spent the week-end with relatives in town. The Scout Mothers would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped at the Father and Son Banquet, on Friday night. Remember the monthly meeting of the Scout Mothers on Monday, July 19th, at the Parish, Mr. and Mrs. R. Davies and little son, of Lindsay, are holidaying with Mr, and Mrs. Clayton Love, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stovin and son, of Detroit, also Mrs. W. I, Clark and sister, Mrs. D. Letcher. | Mrs. Orval Druean and Juyce Anne visited her parents, Mr. 'and Mrs, Woollard, in Peterborough, for a few days last week, : Rp aS FATHER AND SON BANQUET Congratulations and many thanks to the Scout Mothers of Port Perry for the delicious supper and delight- "ful entertainment at the Father and Son Banquet held in the Sunday School Room of the United Church, "It was charming of Mrs. Stouffer to play the organ before dinner. After everyone had eaten, six of our well known boys and men were chosen to take part in a record to be heard on the radio pro- gram "Did I Say That?" on Thursday, August 26th, 1948, There were'iany laughs whilst the record was being made and also when the radio men played it back for the benefit of the six contestants and the 'others present. Master of Ceremonies for the evening was our very capable chairman, Dr. Lundy. Everyone enjoyed the solos by Scout Jimmy Rider and Garnet Palmer, who were accompanied by Mrs. Palmer. Scoutmaster, Sulman and Cub- master Ploughman gave short in- formative and interesting speeches, after which the guest speaker, Rev.
