An immediate donation of $75.00 to the House Committee of this, project was de- cided upon. Mrs, Cecil Ptolemy. consented to convene a telephone, euchre on Wednesday, January 30th. Any- one interested in openjng their home. for this may phone Mrs. Ptolemy. It is hoped that all be contacted before this date and asked to participate in our en- deavour to raise additional funds. We are informed that a general canvass for the Scout Building is being held shortly, and the moth- er's organization will help with this. We would ask any mother who cares to purchase more cookies | (Girl Guide cookies left over from regular Cookie Day) to give your order-and money for same, to your daughter when she 'goes to her meeting and she will see that you are supplied- with these delicious cookies, cellophane wrapped and as fresh and crisp as on the day they were made. Mrs. Grant Franklin conducted the devotional service' and Mrs. Toombs read the Scripture lesson; * The lesson talk was given by Mis. Croxalll "Mis |}; Wesley Thompson, Port Perry gave a very seasonable talk which was en- joyed. 'The.new President, Mrs. J. E. Holtby. took over the meeting and the minutes of last meeting were read and adopted. A motion was passed that .we serve lunch at Hog producers meeting on Jan. 29th. ; x ig Fd After a short business discussion the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Franklin and Mrs. Toombs served a delicious lunch and a social hour was enjoyed. On Friday 'evening about sixty friends and neigbours met in the Hall to do honor to one of our local boys, Mr, Fred Brooks and his bride. Dau- cing was enjoyed to music by Messrs, Beacock and Roach and Bob Walker called for the square dancing. Mr. and Mrs, Brooks were called to the platform and Mr. Bob Walker read an address and Mr, Howard Franklin and "Mr. Robert Howsam presented the newly weds with a lovely coffee table, a plate glass mir- ror and a china- dinner service for 8. The Utica Hockey team has been 'doing veryF well in the inter-commun- ity games as they defeated Green- bank 3-1 last Tuesday evening and Leaskdale 6-0 Friday night in the Uxbridge arena.
