HARRIS, HARRIS & WALLACE, Port Perry, Ontario, Solicitors for the Administrator. maylb Cancer Research They're only rats but their an- cestry goes back to 16 generations of living in the lofty seclusion of the Craine Building at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. This laboratory strain of pink- eyed, pink-nosed, snow white al- binos is being used by Dr. Eldon M. Boyd and Dr. 'H. D. McEwen in a project upon which they are working with the assistance of a grant-in-aid of research from the National Cancer Institute. They are using rats to find out exactly what goes on in a cell and, in their study of the subject, going back to the chemistry of the cell itself to find out what a cancer is. The reason for using the albinos in the experiment is that they devel- op a form of cancer, the Walker Tumor, which is similar to that seen in man. tumor in their experiments be- cause it is a fast growing type. The rat lasts but four weeks after the tumor begins to grow in the groin, a tumor which will have grown to one half the weight of its hoat in that time. - = TH Commencing immediately the Colonial Coach They make use of the Walker | Lines and DeNure Bus Lines Terminal and waiting room will he at the Flamingo Restaurant, Phone 375.
