The concrete of the highway was laid in 1929 and with the exception of a new surface laid some years ago little has been done to the busy highway in the intervening years, The contract for the eavrying out of the project has heen awarded to Beam ish Construction Company. The high. way has been surveyed and work i well advanced. It is anticipated that the repair of the highway will be con tinued as far north as Sunderland where it intersects with the Canada Highway. Two major changes in the highway are being made north of Brooklin. About a mile north of the village at the Wagon Wheel Inn curve a sharp turn in the road will be eliminated. The road will curve gently to the east through a field. A short distance further east another turn will also be straightened. The contract also includes the build- ing of a number of new culverts, Those already constructed ave nmiuch longer than those now in use, Trans Single Copy se. | - Fine Weather Brings Large Turn-Out At Annual Fall Fair Anoher Big Day for Port Perry Fair
