We who saw you married were expecting Victor to collapse or some- thing along that line, but really he stood up very well, and we couldn't even detect any knees shaking. And you Marjorie were lovely, and we re- joiced with you, and then we all crow- ded into your home on the occasion of the grand charivoree. We hope . that you enjoyed the evening as much as we did, Events of this sort does so much for our rural communities and brings us all together. Leaders are not.always plentiful, but you had given so much of your time Marjorie in every worthwhile project of the community, and in the life of the church, In the Women's Association, the Sunday School, the choir, and whenever an extra pair of hands were needed, especially in time of sickness, the community has so of- ten turned to you, and you have never disappointed us. We congratulate you both on the happy occasion of pursuing love to its logical end, namely Christian Marri- age. May your home be blessed, an may you have everything that your "hearts desire, and above all may your faith in God and in each other never waver. And who knows, maybe there will be a little Victor and a little Mar. jorie, for a home is ten times blessed when there are little hands to clasp around our necks and little lips to press against ours. We have brought you little tokens of our love, and we know that you will accept them, because this is the only tangible way we could think of to show how much we have appreciated you. The address was com- piled and read by Mrs. Herman Kerry. Dear Jack and Alma: Back in 1922 John David Hill felt very blue, he thought a wife would be some help and would take one that could wash, iron and bake. At the English home he soon was seen ask- ing for their daughter Alma Irene. Jack said Alma let's set the date so they both decided on the first part of May. Then came the minister. Alma said (I will) take you John David Hill; Alma Irene I will take you too and now our courting days are through. Alma then was at a loss as she knew Jack would be the boss. The Tulips were out all red and yellow around their first home in Manilla. It was a cosy little nest and with four lovely children they were blest. Irene, Ollie and Herb. A lovely baby then came, June just a little lady and now 8: grandchildren that bring you joys, just 4 girls and 4 boys. Now we hope you know why we've met at this time and have made up this little ryme, it is to congratulate you both and seal with a kiss for many years of wedded bliss. And as our memory backward rove we will remember this evening here in Pine Grove, And now we ask you to accept these tokens in remembrance of your 36th wedding anniversary. Jack and Alma were completely ta- ken by surprise but ably thanked their many friends for the lovely gifts they received. ister of Pine Grove, some 30 years and Mrs. Bob Banks.
