Her flowers were red roses. Mrs Jean Kerry, only sister of the bride acted as matron of honor. She wore a pink sheath embossed bengaline dress with filmy neck-draping and back panels of nylon chiffon. Her flowers were pink roses. Mr. James Young, brother of the groom acted as groomsman. For the reception following the cere- mony Mrs. Thomas, received wearing a two picce navy dress with white and a corsage of pink carnations. She was assisted by the groom's mother who wore a light blue lace dress. Her cor- sage was pink carnations. For travelling the bride chose a black coat trimmed with fur and a fea- ther hat. That day is Sunday, February 22, Everyone in Guiding and Scouting knowssthe sig- nificance -of this day, It is a day set aside for meditation and contemplation in honor of the Chief Guide's Birth- day. ~We honor Lord Baden Powell by a special service and by taking time to think of the aims and purposes of "The Great Game", In Port Perry, a Church Parade has | always been held followed by a service in one of the Churches. This year we are planning to have all the Scouts and the guides and the Cubs and the Brownies attend the morning worship services in the four Churches, Angli- can, United, Presbyterian and Catho- lic. Your Guide or Brownie will be bringing a note home about it, The Tentative plans are these. One Cub and one Brownie Pack will assemble -in the Parish Hall and attend the service in the Anglican Church, The other Cub and Brownie Pack will meet downstairs in the Presbyterian Church with their leaders and attend that service. --We know you parents will be proud as you see these young people dedicate themselves once again in the service of Scouting and Guiding, Uniforms and Ties will look their very best, shoes po- lished and pins and insignia gleaming. We are many and we are strong, grant us to grow in numbers and. in strength that we may resolve to work steadfastly for Thee in this world that is Thine. Grant that the uniform we wear may never be put on simply from force or habit or from convenience. Let it be a perpetual reminder to us of whom we are and what we are striving to be. Grant that the law which we have promised to obey never become to us a mere string of empty words. Let it be the guiding principles of our lives. Grant that our promise may be a help to us each morning as we face a new day, and a strength to us each evening when wearied by our work, cheered or saddened by the events of the day, we turn to Thee for rest.
