October 8, 1959 Greenbank Girl Wins Bursary Lillian Jean Couves, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Couves, of Greenbank, has been awarded a Pro- vincial Aid Bursary, value $260, for her standing of 67 per cent in eight sub- jects in Grade 18 examinations at Port Perry High School. Lillian had also received numerous academic awards within the school. In 1968 she received the IODE Eng- lish prize; trophies for French and Latin, English and History, Mathe- matics and Science. In 1957 she was awarded the Students' Council Trophy. Also, in 1957, she was editor of the school year book, "Hill- top" as well as being a prominent member of the cadet band for three years, Lakeshore Teachers' College, Toronto.
