Two other visitors to the Presby- tery, Rev, L. W, Carlson and Mr, Fred Mclndoo of Peterboro, told of the new opportunities of using the facilities for workers' gatherings or ministerial rétreat ete, at The House of The Four Seasons near Gre's Landing on Rice Lake. The speakers were thank- ed for their messages, by Mr, Smith, Rev. W. A. Logan of Enniskillen, In the Christian Edueation report, noted that it.will soon be time to make plans for summer Church camp- ing, but. pointed out that one of the continuing problems is the lack of good leaders at these Church camps, The possibility of holding a Junior Boys' camp at Camp Pretoria late in August was deferred for the time be- ing. Film strips, records, and other helps for Christian Education work are available from the Secretary of the Committee, Mrs. W. C. Ives, of Bowmanville. A report wag given concerning the recent school for Elders and Stew- ards which was held at the St. And- rew's United Church in Oshawa re- cently. This was sponsored by the Evangelism and 'Social Service Com- mittee. Some 60 stewards and 108 elders were present, and were led by Dr. Wm. Berry and Mr. Gordon Bray of Toronto, It was the feeling of Presbytery that another such school be held at the same time of the year next year. The Missionary and Maintenance report showed that an increase in of- ferings for missions had been made throughout the Presbytery, the a- mount being some 10.1 percent over last year. In the pastoral relations and home missions reports, there was some dis- cussion of the future supply for Southminster and Westminster and Cedardale Churches in Oshawa, A meeting of various committees short- ly will seek to bring solution to this matter. Rev. A. M, Butler has been called to serve as assistant minister at Whitby, and Rev. Fred J. Jackson of Tyrone, has indicated that he will seek a change in-pastoral relationship. One delegate was named from the Prsesbytery to attend the forthcom- Re TNE RE IA URN nf A FOYE) ing meeting of the [Religion-Labour Council meeting in Toronto on Feb- ruary 29th, and it is to be hoped that some laymen will attend the-work- shop for United Church Men, to be held at Campbellford on February 27. The ladies of Harmony . United Church served the delegates at the noon meal, A Prospect W. A. Due to bad roads and sickness in the community, the attendance at the Feb, meeting of the W.A, held recently at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Smith was very. small. .
