JE TN NN Ny Ne | Seagrave (Crowded out last week) The Women's World Day of Prayer Service was held by the U.C.W. in Seagrave United Church, on Friday, March 9th. Owing to various causes the gathering was not as large as we had hoped. The service was conducted by the U.C.W. President, Mrs. R. Reynolds, and Mrs. J.-S. MacFarlane of Sonya, W.M.S. Rev. McNeil read the open- ing prayer® and the prayer of St. Chrysostom. Mrs. Glenn Wanamaker led in prayer for Her Majesty and Leaders of the Nations; Mrs. MacFar- lane, Prayer for Our Country; Mrs. M. Bruce, Prayer for Families; Mrs. G. Stone, Prayer for the Needy; Mrs. H. Eagleson, Prayer for the Whole Christian Church, Mrs. MacFarlane introduced the guest speaker, Rev. Douglas Fox, of Wick. He spoke on the Theme: "God's Love for the Whole World", basing his Thoughts on John 3-16. For God so loved the world, ete. He broke the verse up into phrases: "God so loved", "the world", "that he gave", "His only begotten son", "that whosoever be- lieveth", "should not perish". Thus making the old story very impressive Mrs, Eagleson spoke a few words of thanks for the splendid address. Wanamaker. Mrs. Miller, the nurse who cares for Mr .and Mrs. Martyn, drove him to Seagrave, and he was able to call on old friends. Very good going for his ninetieth year. Mrs. Walter King is undergoing treatment in Bobcaygeon Hospital. Mr. Edwin Mitchell of Galt, and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Taylor of Bobcay- geon were in Seagrave for the funeral of their uncle Mr. Edwin Blight. Visitors at the home of Mr, and Mrs. B. L. Wanamaker on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Ron Wanamaker and Wayne of Port Perry; Miss Jean Taylor of Greenbank; Mr. and Mrs. H. Sweetman of Courtice; Mr. and Mrs. Adam Sharp of Enniskillen; Mr. and Mrs. Rahm of Greenbank. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. J. C. MacTaggart entertained Mr. and Mrs. |. Art Moase and Carl and Mr. Martin MacTaggart, of Toronto, also Mr. Dan MacTaggart of Bowmanville. Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Boe returned home on Friday after five weeks in Flordia.
