Romeril conducted the Devotions and intro- duced a friend Mr. Bob Cuthbert of Jamaica, who after attending a Uni- versity in Quebec for four years is now a Student at Queen's University, Kingston, Ont. Mr. Cuthbert gave a very interest- ing talk on -- "My Impressions of Canadians". Letters of appreciation for money received by Miss Muriel Stevens, Leo- paldville, Africa and Dr. Bob McClure, India, were read. Final plans for the Spring dance May 256th were made. A fairly good number enjoyed the supper in the C. E. room Friday even- ing, served by the U.CiW. A very interesting programme fol- | lowed when Dr. Price of Port Perry, showed pictures and gave a most in- teresting and educational commentary of his visit to Cuba. Lorna Wright's speech on "My Home Town" was also very informa- tive and interesting. These items were interspersed by lovely duets of Spring Songs by Msds. Lorne Thompson and Harold Kyte accompained by Mrs. Dave Wilson. The Sacrament of Baptism was ad- ministered to Katherine Lee and Linda Susan, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Butt, in the United Church Sunday morning. Rev. P. Romeril preached a fine sermon from the sub- ject "He Tarries Among Us" and the. choir sang the Anthem. "Be Thou My Vision", Mr. and Mrs. Russel McLaughlin, Oshawa, who have just returned from Florida recently, spent a few days with Mrs. Jean McLaughlin and boys. Ted Glover, Oshawa, spent the holi- days and Mrs. Mollon, Port Perry, spent a day with Mr .and Mrs. Harold Martyn and boys. Miss Marilyn Archer, Whitby, spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. W. Ar- cher and Mr. Dever. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Wright and fa- mily and Roy and Bill Ferguson were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Noel Morton and David, Oshawa. Msds. Stanford VanCamp, Percy VanCamp, Charles Smith and Mervyn Graham attended District "Women's Institute executive meeting in Bow- manville last Monday. Mr. Bob Cuthbert of Queen's Uni- versity, Kingston was a guest at the Parsonage for a few days last week. Mrs. Osmond Wright spent a few days with her daughters and their fa- milies in Toronto last week. Mrs. Arthur Leighton, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bailey were Saturday evening guests of Mrs. Fred Hodgson, Port Perry. Mrs. J. A. McArthur and Mrs. Nor- man Dysart spent a couple of days with friends in Stratford. Sharma and Kara Lee Ferguson and Beth Powell, Newcastle, spent a few days with Mr .and Mrs, Russell Mount- joy. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Dunsmoor spent the week-end with Durham friends. Beth Dunsmoor spent the week-end with her sister Brenda in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Bailey and Mr. Stanley Malcolm arrived home from Florida Friday. } Mrs. MacDougald, St. Marys, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mes. Glenn Larmer and boys. Mr-.and Mrs. Harold Hocken, Port Perry, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leith Byers. Mrs. Luella Fawcett and daughter Miss Joyce and son Murray, Meaford, visited Mrs. Wesley Bradburns, Will Forders, Osmond Wrights and Leith Byers' last week. Randy and Lawrence Collins, Osh- awa, spent a.few days with Will Forders and Terry Collins with the Martyn boys last week. Mrs. Percy Collins, Oshawa, called on several friends. Mr. and Mrs. Will Forder visited Mr. and Mrs. Bénson Dunn, Oshawa,| Sunday. Sympathy is extended the family of Mrs. Albert: Hooey, who passed away at the home of her daughter Vera (Mrs. J. E. Cary) Toronto, April 13th. Interment was in the family plot, Cadmus Union Cemetery, Ar 16th, The late Mr. and Mrs. Hooey lived | in Blackstock for a number of years and the family were raised here.
