Barthau greeted the members and friends at the door. After the opening cere- mony, the minutes were read by the Sec'y Mrs. H. Honey and adopted, and the statement of Treas. was given by Miss A. Kent showing a fair balance on hand. The roll was answered by each member stating briefly what she liked about the month of May Reports Each convener reported on the work of her committee. Mrs. S. Plough- man gave a resume of the district course, held at Brooklin recently. An account of the one. day course on "Effective Speaking", held at Haug- en's restaurant Manchester, was pre- sented by Mrs. P. Diamond. During communications a letter was read from the Home Ec. Service re- garding short courses. After consi- derable discussion, members decided to have as 1st choice "Women's In- stitute Procedures", 2nd choice "Needlework", The slate of Officers is now com- plete. Mrs. Fred Raines has accepted the office of 2nd Vice:President, and Mrs. H. Smeltzer is convener of His- torical Re-search. Mrs. F.
