CARTWRIGHT COUNCIL (Continued. from Front Page) sent or heatedly opposed them. This vociferous delegation resulted from the Township's order to Messrs. Chant and Thompson to remove their two boathouses off the road allowance, thus opening it to the public and es- pecially as a right of way to the lake for the owners of adjacent off shore lots. After a disorderly harangue for about an hour, the delegation pre- sent either growing weary of the whole episode or else realizing that Council had not changed their minds --became a little more pleasant and terminated their verbal assault, re- tiring to permit audience with the next delegation who were in the ma- jority ladies and were given the plea- sure of voicing their theories on how Municipal Council aught to be run, and extending a bit of personal cri- tism at the clerk and his family. The third delegation bore a petition rep- resenting 100% the property owners of Plan #287, requesting Council to permit them to close their privately owned road and that Council would construct, with a minimum of work, a couple of accesses to the Township road which now margins their pri- vate road. Council discussed with the Roads Superintendent, M. Sug- gitt, the possibility of said project and approved the cottagers' request. The fourth delegation with Mr. Sher- win and his lawyer, presented a pe; tition of seven names requesting Council to close certain rights of way to the lake in Plan 54 so that they might enjoy a greater degree of pri- earlier in the evening having talked with the Roads Superintendent, and having come to the conclusion that their business wasn't too important, had by this time retired and Council were free to continue with the busi. ness of the evening. Clerk was to check up on the num- ber of rights of way to Lake Scugog that were not definately and legally municipal property. Council also in- structed the Clerk to- contact a sur- veyor to stake, the perimeter of the western terminus of the 10th Con- cession line andl to settle boundaries once and for Bll. A request from "Council to permit them to store cer- tain bulky artitles of equipment in a more or less empty room in the Twp. Hall, was appfoved for one year on vacy.
