Chairman Geo. E. Lofthouse, Members Thos. Wilson, Wm. G. Man- ning, John Batty, John Goodwin, Don Riberts and A. Omand. On motion the minutes of Meeting No. #1 were adopted as printed and distributed. Carried. Mrs. Rilda Ross was in attendance in support of application for division of land. Parcel to be separated, con- taining present residence, having a frontage of 280 ft. by depth of 200 ft. from main acreage of Lot 24, Con- cession 6. ' It was moved that consent be grant- Carried. Mr. Norman Bird was present and requested the Board's permission to divide Lot 28, Concession 6 in 2 par- Mr. Bird explained that this parcel of land was purchased as three building lots having 75 ft. frontage, which was the requirements at that] time. Letter of Feb. 13th, 1963 from Municipal Planning Consultants ad- vising that they had prepared their report "Planning Report, Corridor Area, Township of Whitby" and had delivered twenty-six copies to the Township Office and four copies to R. E. Dale of Cobban, Woolley and Dale as per our instructions. It was agreed that this correspon- dence be received and filed. 2. From Municipal Planning Con- sultants Co. Ltd. (1) Invoice #708 re "Planning Report, Corridor Area" amount $5,336.22. (2) Invoice #709 for consultations in connection with Humberforth rezoning, amt. $211.90. IFollowing discussion it was moved that a copy of invoice #708 be for- warded to Cobban, Woolley and Dale, together with covering letter. Carried. 3. Letter of Feb. 18th, 1963 from Mr. D. W. Wilson covered under in- terviews. 4. From Mr. Donald McLaren and Mr. Van Luling, application for divi- sion of land re Lot 28, Concesslon 7. Parcel to be separated having front- age of 246 ft. by depth of 660 ft., from main holding of 396 ft. frontage by depth of 660 ft. 7. From "Mr. Russell Bryant, ap- plication for division of land re Lot 27, Concession 3. Parcel to be se- parated having frontage of 264 ft. "with depth of 660 ft. from main hold- ing having frontage of 462 ft. by depth of 860 ft. Items 4 and 7 of correspondence both being requests for separation in Agricultural Zone were discussed at length. It was felt by some of the Board members that a policy should be set up to govern application for separations in Agricultural Zones. It was moved that Items 4 & 7 be deferred for further consideration. Carried. 5. Request from Secretary for au- thorization to pay for Planning Board Dinner Meeting held February 14th, 1063. Amount $33.90. This meeting wa- attended by Members of Plan- ning Board, Council and Committee of Adjustment, with Mr. A. Holmes re- presentative of the Official Plans See- tion of the Department of Municipal Affairs who gave a most interesting and informative address on this phase of Planning, which was followed by a question and answer period. It was moved that account be paid. Carried. : 6. From the Twp. of Whitby, Notice of Appointment for Hearing By-law No. 1867 -- Wednesday, March 27th, 1963 at 10 a.m. 8. Mackey, So- licitor re: Albert Hannam, requesting separation of a parcel 756 ft. by 200 ft. upan which his son has erected a dwelling (1958-1959) in Lot 22, Con- cesslon 4. It was moved that as Lot does not conform to by-law, consent be refused but if size of parcel increased to com- ply with by-law consideration would be given. Carried. 10. From Manning F. Swartz and Ronald L. Swartz, Barristers, re Part of Lot 20, Concession 4, enclosing daft deeds from Albert Yakely to (a) Twp. of Whitby and (b) The Director, Veteran's Land Act, and requesting the deed to the Director be approved by the Planning Board. Dale, representing Humber- forth Investments and Messrs. Wm. Ferguson and Derek Little of Muni- cipal Planning Consultants Co. Ltd, and Murray Robinson, Secretary of the Planning Board were present. Mr. D. Little with some assistance from Mr. Wm, Ferguson explained the report and showed how some of loberts the findings had been reached. A question period followed and Mr. Little in answering the questions brought out other points in connection with the report. Chairman Lofthouse expressed his appreciation to Mr. Little for the comprehensive report. Moved that we defer decision on this report until a special meeting to be held at the call of the chair, at which time a site plan will be avail- able. Brooklin Water Committee Meeting MARCH 7th, 1968 A Meeting of the Water Committee of the Brooklin Water Area was held in the Council Chambers, Brooklin on Thursday, March 7th, 1963 at 1 p.m. with the following present: Chair- man Dr. J. H. McKinney, Members Wm. Manning, Don Roberts, Geo. Vick and John Dryden. Also present were Messrs. A. Clark, C. W. Perry and T. Armstrong from the Operations Branch of O.W.R.C. On Motion the minutes of the pre. vious meeting held on Jan. 24th last were adopted as printed. Carried. A letter from the Department of Finance was read. This approved the payment of $260.30 as payment in full of the water frontage charges of $262.86 for the present Brooklin Post Office. ' Moved that this letter be filed and the payment accepted and sent to the O.W.R.C. as a capital payment upon the receipt of the same. Carried. A financial report to the Water Committee was received and accepted. This report was as follows: CR. Two statements from O.W.R.C, showed estimated amounts due O.W, R.C. for 1963 -- The first statement showed a total of $13,914 and an esti- mated revised statement showed a total of $11,809. Moved that the Brooklin Water tank be painted, after the calling of ten- ders by O.W,R.C. and the cost of the same be charged to current operating costs. Carried. Anticipated revenues and expendi- tures for 1968 were considered and the following motion was passed. That this water Committee recom- mend to Council that the mill rate for the Brooklin Water Area for 1963 be set at 3.0 mills. Carried. Member Geo. Vick drew to the at- tention of the Committee that Mr. Harry Simpson, Manager of the Whitby P.U.C. had offered the ser- vices of their maintenance crew in case of emergency in this water sys- tem. Moved that a letter be sent to Mr. Simpson thanking him for his offer. Carried. On motion meeting adjourned at 3.30 p.m. Carried. [El Ta Te Teed - Anglican Notes By Mary Becker The members of the Young Peoples' Group are reminded of their tobog- ganing party, to be held on Sunday afternoon, March 24, weather per- mitting. The group will meet at the church at 2.30 p.m. Events next week will include the Teenagers' Lenten service and break- fast on Tuesday morning at 7.30; the Men's Bible Study Group on Tuesday evening at 8 p.m.; Holy Communion at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, and the Wo- men's Prayer and Bible Study Group on Thursday morning at 10.30 in the parish hall. Rev. Earl Gerber gave an interest. ing talk and showed slides of his work in the Arctic Mission of Fort Harrison at an Evensong and Fire- side last Sunday night. Those present had an enjoyable and informative evening, but the attendance was poor. We hope this situation will improve when the second Lenten parish even. ing is held on March 31st. At that time Evensong will be followed by a discussion on "The parish at Home" led by Rev. David Jones of the Dio- cesan Centre, Aurora. The ladies of the Women's Auxiliary will serve re- freshments. The next meeting of the Evening Guild will be on April 1st at 8.16 p.m. A Rummage Sale will be held on Saturday, April 27th in the Parish Hall.
