The Mystery Sister - WERT 'SCUGOG NEWS The Head Memorial U.C.W, held their Christmas meeting at the home of Mrs. John Pearce, Port Perry, with 18 members and 3 visitors present on Tues- day evening, December 3rd. The meeting opened with the theme hymn and prayer. Reta Wilson gave the prayer and Beryl Pearce read the scripture. Reta Reader read the story and suggested we read the Gospels of Mathew and Luke on Christ- mas day The minutes were read and approved. The roll call was "Our Favourite Christmas music". Reports were received from the Hosp. Aux. represent- ative and the Visiting Com- mittee. On Saturday night Mr. and Mrs. Jack Manns and family were in attendance at the Ang- "Tican Hall in Port Perry when 45 nieces and nephews of the former Miss Flossie Spencer gathered to honour her and her husband Mr. Alvin Aldred upon' the occasion of their recent marriage. Saturday night was also an occasion for a surprise birth- day party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Lynde of Ash- burn. Mr. and Mrs. Don Ash- bridge and .several families from-the-Foot were in attend ance, Sunday morning the bus ar- rived at the Head Sunday . School and was filled and on its | way at the appointed hour of 9.16 toward Casa Loma. We learned that we had been very wise in making our arrange- ment for an early visit. When we saw the crowds arriving at 12.30 we were glad to be on our way. She was later able to visit with Mr. and Mrs. C. Graham. The Harrisons of Toronto joined with the Ashbridges for supper at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orval Stone. On Monday night Beverley Manns, Ann Carter and Sandra Healey stepped up and were en- rolled in the Girl Guides. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Martyn reached their destination in California rather fatigued but cenjoyed the trip all the way. Miss Connie Mawhinney of Ajax visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. C. HOLD POT-LUCK SUPPER The C.W.L. of Immaculate Conception Church held its an- nual Christmas party and pot- luck supper on -Tuesday, Dec. 3rd in the Parish hall.
