We wish her a speedy THIS and By Sobien Twackle A goodly number of people have recently asked me, person- ally and by phone, as to what has happened to my friend-- Percival Thistlewort. I am happy to be able to in- !{ form Percival's many friends that he is well and fit. Percival hates the snow and cold and has therefore remained largely at his home, being rather more ap- preciative of the winter scene looking out from the warmth of his fireside, than by being out and suffering the miseries thereto. f | Honor H. L. Fair With 25-Year Pin Completion of 25 years ser- vice with the Ontario Govern- ment was recently marked by the presentation of 25-year pins by Hon. Wm, A. Stewart, min- ster of agrculture, to Mr. H. Lynn Fair, agricultural repre- sentatve for Ontario County and to the Bruce County representa- tive, G. Gear. Mr. Fair has been in Ux- bridge for the past 16 years, coming here from Hastings where he served for nine years. A native of Bruce County, "Mr: Fair attended school in Kin- cardine and received his B.S.A. degree from the 0.A.C., Guelph. Following graduation he was appointed to the Agricultural Representative Service of the Ontario Department of Agricul- ture as assistant agricultural representative in Wellington. He also served in a number of other counties prior to being ap- pointed Agricultural Represen- tative in Oe i 80 Adopiidils In Ont. County More than 80 children were adopted in Ontario County and Oshawa during the past pear. This shows a slight Jnerehss over 1962. Seventy couples in the area are waiting to be considered for children, 70 couples who have | been approved are waiting to be given children and 70 place- ments are being supervised. 'Bernard Lewis, director of the Ontario County and Oshawa Children's Aid Society, said Monday that most children are adopted by couples living in the area between Ajax and Oshawa, but some children have gone to homes as far north as Washago. i | Xmas Trees. However, with his usual eye | for business, Percival recently | has made a number of forages § into the village and has, result- 3 "antly, asked me to publicize the pA following: FOR SALE -- New and used Good condition. Cedar, spruce & scotch pines. Buy now and save. Phone Per- | cival Thistlewort, 985-0001 (De- livery extra). My friend Percival is an avid reader and not to be outdone | by the predictions of such in- ' tellects as Nathan Cohen and Pierre Berton, Percival has the following predictions to offer on the local and international scene. Such predictions are not of necessity in order of happen- ing. . The ice will go out from Lake Scugog by 11.30 a.m, on April | 24th and the first power boat will be on the lake by 11. de a.m. the same day.
