JAN. 30th, 1964--35 Nancy McDonald, David J ackson Wed In Church of Christ, Ajax Recently, at a quiet candle-' light service in the Church of Christ building in Ajax, Nancy Ruth McDonald only daughter of Mrs. Leslie McDonald, Port Perry, became the bride of David John Jackson, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jack- son, Scugog Island. Mr. Art Jackson performed the double ring ceremony, and _a trio, Mrs. John Sanna, Mrs. Albert Langford and Mr, Stan- ley "Jackson, sang traditional wedding music, and a wedding prayer. Given in marriage by her el- dest brother Dan, the bride wore a floor length gown of white brocaded .satin, featuring an A line skirt with small train, and a sweetheart neckline. Her bouffant veil was held in place by organza roses and seed pearls. She carried 'a white Bible upon which was an ar- rangement of yellow rose buds and ribbon streamers. Matron of honour, Mrs. Mal- colm Porter, and bridesmaid Miss, Kay Jackson, sister of the groom, wore white wedding ring hats, and were gowned alike in green A line, street length, em- bossed bengaline dresses. The former carried bronze mums, the latter, yellow mums. Flow- er girl Shelley Porter wore a short dress of the same design and material as the bride's gown, and carried a nosegay of yellow and bronge mums. Bas- kets of yellow, bronze and white: mums decorated 'the . church building. : The groom's mother wore a peacock blue crepe dress, with SPATE beige accessories, and a cor sage! of pink mums. The bride's mother wore a black wool mat- ching dress and hat, and a cor- sage of white mums. A reception followed in the church building and guests in- cluded those from Port Perry, Scugog Island, Oshawa, Mark- ham, Brooklin, Uxbridge and Toronto. __The young bride was the guest of honour at showers held at the homes of Mrs. Ross Pren- tice, Mrs. Bob Davis, Misses Linda and, Sharon Harris, and Mrs. Tom Bell, who was hostess on behalf of the Gossard staff. The residents of Scugog Island honoured. the bride and groom with an evening at the Com- munity hall, followed by a pre- sentation of beautiful andl use- ful gifts. The happy couple now reside in Oshawa. Ashburn News Mrs. Harvey Bath, of Tor- onto, visited friends in the vill- age on Tuesday. Mrs.. Russell Taylor is visit- ing relatives in Guelph. ] Mr .and Mrs. S. Gourlay, of Pickering called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Heron, on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs, Nelson Ashton accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Sutherland, of Utica, to Water- town, New York, on Friday.
