Cath- erine is the eleventh guide in Port Perry to receive this co- veted award. The presentation was made in the Church of the Ascension, North Street, Port Perry, of! which Catherine is a member. Following the opening pro- cessional hymn "Onward Girl Guides Onward", and the na- tional anthem, the colours were presented by Guides Susan Roach and Judy Dagenais, as- sisted by guards Cathy Jeffrey; Sheralyn Sonley; Sharon Sweet- man and Joanne Jackson. Mrs. George Hall, a former pre- sident of the Guide and Brownie Mothers' Auxiliary, An inspiring address was given by the guest 'of honour Mrs. Frank Godley, a former area Commissioner, who was introduced by Mrs. Roach. The Scriptures were read by the Reverend Mr. 0. W. Orr, M.A., S.T.B. of the Church of the Ascension. After the closing hymn "In Christ There is no East or West" the standard bearers re- tired with the colours. The congregation joined in singing "O Canada" and the blessings of the Church were given by the minister. Following this impressive ceremony a reception was held in the Church Hall.
