Peddie and Mr. Jim Peddie of Claremont and Mrs. James Handley of Tor- onto. Mrs. A. Reynolds returned to Ancaster with her son Walter and family on Saturday after spending a month with Mr. and Mrs, Edgar Heron. The monthly meeting of the 'W.M.S. was held at the home of Mrs. Ray Graham, Myrtle on Wed., March 4th at 2.15 p.m. with the president Mrs. Rus- sell Batten presiding. The meeting opened with the singing of "Hymn 58 'God of Mercy", The scripture lesson was read by Mrs. Wm. Gard- ner followed with prayer by Mrs. Edgar Heron. The roll call was answered by members naming a missionary in our mission field. Our So- ciety will be guests of Stouff- ville W.M.S. on Wed., April 1st at their, Easter thank-offering. Hymon 3876 "From Green- land's Icy Mountains" was sung. The study took the form of a panel discussion on "Evan- gelism and Missions" with Mrs. W. Gardner; Mrs. C. Harrison; Mrs. Frank Lynde and Mrs. N. Anderson taking part. Hymn 661 "Forth in Thy Name", was sung and the meeting closed with The Lord's Prayer repeat- ed in unison. At a recent meeting of the Ladies' Guild plans were made for a Variety Supper to be held in the basement of the church on Friday evening Mar. 20th. The following officers were installed for 1964: President--Mrs. W. Gardner . Vice-Pres.--Mrs. R. Graham Sec'y--Mrs. H. Doble Treasurer--Mrs. John Hopkins Pianist--Mrs. Edgar Heron There was a good attendance at Burn's Church Sunday School and Church Services on Sun- day, March 8th. Rev. H. Bun- tain chose his text from St. John 14--verses 12-17. A number of farmers from this district enjoyed a bus trip arranged by Mr. Clinton Midg- ley our Shur-Gain 'dealer, and toured the Shur-Gain plant at Maple on Tuesday. 'A large crowd of friends and neighbours attended a 75th Birthday anniversary for Mr. Goslin, senior, in the Commun- ity Hall on Saturday evening.
