Senior Citizens Take Boat Tour Through The Thousand Islands Another delightful trip was enjoyed by a lot of members & non members Friday, July 3rd. Two bus loads left Port Perry at 8 am. A number of people came in cars from Uxbridge to meet the bus here. The weather was very good, we were all pleased it wasn't into the 90 degrees. The buses travelled to Kingston, had a picnic lunch at Ontario Park, then on to! Gananoque and took a boat there to tour the Thousand Is- lands. What a pleasure it was to see the beautiful summer homes and 'then into the Ameri- . can zone, to see the lovely old Castle there, and also the sum- mer home of Kate Smith, the American singer who owned it until 7 years ago. The guide was very interesting and an elderly Captain who steered the boat and led us all in a rousing sing song. After 2% hours journey on the water we board- ed the buses, had dinner at a restaurant, then on the way home again. Many thanks to those who planned this lovely tour, and also a thank you to our two bus drivers. We ar- rived in Port Perry at 9.45 p.m, tired but happy. No more Club meetings until September. A happy summer to everyone. The euchres wil] continue as usual once in two weeks. A picnic will be held PER AT 4 GAARA Rar Sa CA EPHE He A RE UH Cr er iE I Rd Prd aN SE RU b A IN A RE a i IR a es HR ATR SCA RAK : v ¥ vA) . 4s Jy Fd 4.
