The president, Mr. Carl Luke spoke of the success enjoyed by the association in two years of operation. He added that as he was stepping down as president he was proud to have been part of such a success and he would continue to work for the better- ment of Softball. President Luke received a hand from the group who appreciate the time he has put into softball work. Ontario Riding GORDON FAIRWEATHER M.P. Royal, N.B. EVERYBODY WELCOME coaches, sponsors, umpires, the Port Perry Star for the fine co- operation, the good parents and fans who have supported the boys and girls at the ball park and the Executive who have worked together to make the success possible. Elmer Lee gave the treasurer's report and he reported a bank balance of $304.00 with two minor bills to be paid. He add- ed that for two years the boos- ter night has brought about 500 dollars clear & we must be prepared to look ahead to pre- serve the funds as well as the good fortune. A constitution was read, as was a set of playing rules and by-laws and after some discus- sion and two minor additions they were passed without any objection from the members. This will be a big help to the new Executive for now they will have some solid rules to govern with. The constitution, playing rules and by-laws were drawn up by the three man committee of Chas. Bourgeois, Howard Hall and Vin Walker. The Election of Officers then took place and results were as follows: Don Cochrane, the hard work- ing 1st vice president for the past two years and also the coach of the Hope's I1.G.A. Pee Wees was elected president by acclamation. Jim Irvine, coach of the Le- gion Squirts for the past two years as well as serving as 2nd vice president was elected 1st vice president by acclamation. Bill Harper, perhaps one of the best known ball players and now an umpire in this area was elected 2nd vice president de- feating Harry Short in an elec- tionn which took two ballots to decide. Elmer Lee was elected trea- surer by acclamation for his third straight year & as Elmer said he has made so many trips to the local bank the past two summers it would be a shame to break up such a friendship. The work of Elmer Lee speaks for itself. Vin Walker was elected sec- retary by acclamation for his third year, He has managed the Legion Squirts for the past two years, managed the Juniors the past summer as well as be- ing the O0.A.S.A. convener for PORT PERRY HIGH SCHOOL COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES JUNIOR COMMENCEMENT Thurs, November 5th, 1964 at 2.00 p.m. SENIOR COMMENCEMENT Friday, November 6th, 1364 at 8.16 p.m. The Guest Speaker MR.
