'B' To Play Game At Uxbridge Brooklin Redmen, top team in the Int, B Lakeshore League, will play an exhibition game against the Toronto Millionaires in Uxbridge Arena next Wed- nesday evening. The Million- aires are in the Toronto Senior League and indications point to it being a great contest. On the Brooklin team this year are a number of former Uxbridge Black Hawks and well known to hockey enthusiasts in Port Perry. Among these on the lineup are Neil Pascoe, Wayne Red- shaw, Vern Ferguson, Elmo Gibson, Murray Jones & others. There is a possibility that some semi-final or fina games between the Brookin crew and their competitors will be trans- ferred from Brooklin to Ux- bridge. The game next Wednesday there should be of interest to many. PORT PERRY STAR, Thursday, February 4th --~ 5 Canada's New Flag \ ToBe Issued On Stamp Canada's new flag will be honoured on. a special commem- orative postage stamp to be is- sued on June 30th, 1965. This announcement was made recent- ly by the Honourable John R. Nicholson, Postmaster General of Canada. The date of issue was chosen to coincide with July 1st, our national 'holiday. The design will feature the new flag, fly- ing from a flag pole, against a sky of blue. The word 'Canada' and the denomination "5" will appear in middle left position. The words '"postes" and "post- age" will be included at bottom left. The two colours of blue and red will be printed in intaglio, using hand engraved steel dies. The design was developed by the Canadian Bank Note Com- pany, at the request of the Post Office Department. The inclusion of a flag stamp has necessitated a rearranging of the previously announced philatelic programme. Tha stamp to honour the centennial of the choice of Ottawa as the national capital has been moved from June 30th to September 8th, where it will share a date of issue with the stamp to com- memorate the Inter-Parliamen- tary Union Conference. The updated stamp program- me now reads as follows: February 3rd--New Brunswick and Nova Scotia florals March 3rd--International Co-operation Year Spring--Space Research April 28th--British Columbia and Manitoba florals June 30th--Flag stamp August 4th--Prince Edward Island floral September 8th--Inter-Parlia- mentary Union Conference and Centennial of the choice of Ottawa as the national capital October 13th--3 cent and 5 cent Christmas stamps First day of issue arrange- ments for the new national flag stamp will be handled in the normal way by the Depart- ment's Postage Stamp Division.
