Trophy Presented In Memory Of Son Mr. and 'Mrs. Archie Campbell of Brooklin, who's son Bob, a member of the Uxbridge "Chicks" was killed a few weeks ago in a car accident, made a presentation of a trophy in mem- ory of their son in the Uxbridge Arena on Friday night. The trophy is to he presented annually to the most valu- "able player of tha team, and first year's. .winner was John Mc «Millan. Along with the trophy Mr. and Mrs, Campbell also presented a cup, which the player will keep, while the trophy will rotate from year to"year depending whieh player might be chosen. Flyers Win- 5th Game Lead 3-2 In Series Port Perry Flyers came through with a big 'win Tues- day evening at the local arena to take a 3-2-lead in games over Cannington in the second round of Intermediate "C" play-downs. The teams were evenly mat- ched for the first two periods with play moving from one end * to the other very rapidly, and both teams missing many scor- ing oportunities. The Flyers broke the tension at 1.34 of the first period when Jim Carnochan scored unassist- ed. Cannington came back to tie the game up at 3.55 when Doble took a pass from Fair- hall and beat Braiden in the Port net. Cannington took the lead at the 13.10 mark when McLeish scored on a break- Chie Carnegie put the Flyers on even terms at 16.35, scoring unassisted on a slap- shot from the point. Both teams kept on an even keel throughout the second period which saw no scoring al- though both had many oppor- tunities, The Flyers took command in the third and out played their rivals until the final whistle. Port clicked for three goals to give them a 5-2 victory and a one game margin to carry back to Cannington this Fri. night. PeeWee Team To Goderich Tournament The Port Perry PeeWee team who has made such an impres- sive showing during the hockey season has been enterej in the annual Goderich "Young Canada Hockey Week". The games are played during the week of April 16 to 24, and the local boys meet Kincardine in the "C" series on Friday morning at 9:45 am. If the team should win this game, the second game will be played the same day at 6:30 p.m. against the winner of the Har- riston-Point Edward game. Other series are played during the waek and the "C"" series play their semi-final and final games on Saturday, April 24th. H Miles, Cobourg Wins Wiser Trophy A Cobourg rink skipped by J. Thompson won the annual Wiser Distilleries trophy with a score of 46 points at the Port Perry Curling Rink on Satur- day. In second place was John Dyell's rink from Scarborough with 44 points. Dave Thomson's and Storey Beare's rinks both scored 35 points, and had the same ag- gregate scores, but the aggre- gate difference was in favour of Dave Thomson's rink who won third prize and Storey Beare fourth. Winner of fifth prize was Art Bradley and his rink from Whitby, and the consolation prize went to Harold Jamieson, Scarborough.
