There being no further busi- y ness before the council a mo- tion to adjourn was made to meet again on June 1st, 19656 al 7.30 p.m. UTICA UCW On Wednesday evening, May 12th, the monthly meeting of the Utica U.C.W, was held at the home of Mrs. Raymond Ed- wards. There were 12 members and 2 guests present. The meeting was opened by the President Mrs. R. Thorn. dyke. The devotional period was in the capable hands of Mrs. Bruce Geer and Mrs, Larry Kendall. Mrs. Geer opened the © devotional with a prayer follow- ed by the reading in Unison of Psalm 103. Mrs. Kendall led the group in the singing of Hymn 502, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus", followed by the Scripture lesson for the evenr ing ,the story of the Prodical Son as found in the Gospel ac- cording to St. Luke, chapter 15 verses 11 to 32. Mrs. Geer spoke to the ladies and entitled her address 'Cords of Compassion'. Mrs. R. Thorndyke chaired the © business mee'ing. Mrs. Tom Sutherland was appointed as Chairman of the coming Bazaar. Rest wishes to Mrs. Suther- land much success in her ap- poirtment. At the close of the business mee'ing Mrs. Kendall showed two film strips on Spring Wild Flowers of Ontario and Quebec. Ali present enjoyed these lovely pictures and found them very edveational. . The rext mee'ing is to be held at the home of the Presi- dent, Mrs, R.
