John was also among forty other carriers entitled to the three-day bus trip to Ottawa where they toured famous buildings. Mr .and Mrs. Frank Gross of Chatham were Saturday guests with her sister Mr. and Mrs. Harold Holtby and family. Mr. Duane Tietze of Linden, N. Jersey also enjoyed a few days with the Holtby's. Mr. and Mrs, Jack Simons & children, Toronto, were Sun- day visitors with the parents Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Vance. We offer sympathy to Mr. & Mrs. Louis Bond and their. fa- mily who attended the funeral of Mrs. Bond's only brother, Mr. Robert McGregor, Toronto. We welcome Mr, and Mrs. Carl Graham of Scugog Island, who have purchased and moved into Mr. and Mrs. Ken Middle- ton's home. The Middleton fa- mily now reside in their home north section of the village. MINORITY GOVERNMENT DANGEROUS Dr. Claude Vipond, Liberal Candidate, told a meeting of the riding that the impressive record of legislation of the pre- sent Liberal Government mask- ed the many dangers of minor- ity government. "Read any text on political science", he said, "and it will verify that minority govern, Twenty-five members of the Port Perry 4-H Dairy Calf Club completed their 1965 project, re- sulting in a 100% completion for the club. The high member in the club this year was Aldon Smith of R. 2, Port Perry. To complete a 4-H Calf Club project, each member must x- hibit his or her calf at the club's achievement day, where points are awarded on the calf and on showmanship. In addition, pts. are awarded throughout the year on the project work which includes the care and feeding of the calf, the submission of mon- thly feeding reports, and par- ticipation in regular 4-H meet- ings. The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce Special, for the highest points in showmanship, was won this year by Wayne Brethour of R. 3, Uxbridge. The Dr. D. C. In the Port Perry Lions' 4-H Grain Club, 13 members com- pleted their project, with the high club member, and recipient of the Port Perry Lions' Club trophy, being Jim Gerrow of R. 8, Port Perry. Completion of a 4-H Grain Club project is marked by the entry of a sample of seed grain, harvested from the member's plot, at the club's achievement day. Points are awarded to the members on their overall pyo- ject work throughout the year, as well as on their achievement day entry. Other members of the Port Perry Lions' 4-H Grain Club completing their 1965 project are as follows: -- Robt. Continued minority government with its bickering and political manoeuvring will inevitably re- sult in a further splitting up of parties and eventual paralysis.
