Blackstock News By Olga 'Hill Two very fine anniversary services were held in the United Church Sunday. In the morn- ing Rev. Dermot McInnes Ars- cott of Courtice delivered an in- spiring sermon on "The Christ- jan Life" from the texts "Come onto Me". Follow Me" "Abide in Me" and "Go out for Christ". The home choir sang two fine anthems "Like as the Hart" by Richelson and "He is my Lord" by M. Dexter. In the evening Orono choir provided excellent music in two Amthems "Go not Far" by Zin. gearelli and "Go Forth with God" by Martin Shaw. Rev. Arscott delivered another ex- cellent sermon on "Christ and the Church". The Hi C con- ducted the worship service in the evening with scripture pas- sage read by Brian Mountjoy and Margaret Carnaghan. The church was filled for both services. In St. John's Church Sunday morning two minutes silence was observed. Mr. George Wolfe placed a wreath by the Altar and Canon Ashmore preached on the theme of Re- membrance. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Tennyson Samells who celebrated their Golden Wed- ding Saturday. Sincere sympathy is extended Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wright & family on the sudden passing of her father Mr. Harold Stinson of Yelverton Thursday night. Several from this area called at the Mackie Funeral Home, Lind- say, Sunday or are attending the funeral (Monday). A good number from here enjoyed the turkey supper at South Nestleton Presbyterian Church Saturday evening. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs, Percy Brown (nee Helen Buma) who were married two weeks ago; to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Young (Sharon Felstead) who were married one week ago Saturday gnd to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Degeer whose marriage was Saturday, Nov. 6th. Bailey spent Wednesday - Friday in Toronto attending the Women's Imsti- tute Convention at the Royal York. Several other ladies went on Bus Trip Wednesday, some to convention and others to various doings in city. Miss Chrystal Fallis, Peter- boro, spent a few days last week with the Joe Bradburns. Rev. and Mrs. Merrill Fergu- son, Toronto, visited Mrs. Cecil Hill Monday last week. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Me- Nally, Colborne, visited Mr. & Mrs. Carl Wright, Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Norton Van Camp, Listowel, were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Van Camp Tuesday. Mrs. Walter Wright spent a couple of days last week in Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. John Kerven & family, Beaconsville, Quebec spent the week-end with her father Mr. Everett Trewin. Mrs. Drucella Parker, St. Ca- therines, spent last week with Mrs. June Cowling and Roy and is visiting other relatives this week. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Whitfield, St. Catherines, spent the week- end with friends. Mrs. Vicars Beatty, Dunsford was Saturday night guest and Mr. V.
