The Council, who were all acclaimed at no- mination renewed their declara- tion. The new members of the Board of Education -- Messrs. Harold Kyte, Douglas Sleep and Robert Wheeler signed their de- claration of office. These will now work along with Messrs. Harvey Graham, Neil Malcolm and Donald Frew, who are com- mencing their second year in of- fice. Present with the Council and Board of Education were Mrs, P. Romeril, Secretary- Treasurer of the Board of Edu- cation; the Clerk, Mr, Victor Malcolm and the Road Superin- tendant Mr. Merlin Suggitt. They were addressed by Rev. P. Romeril on "Ancient Words of Wisdom from the Book of Proverbs." At noon all went to Flamingo Restaurant, Port Perry and en- joyed a delicious roast beef dinner. There was a discussion on arranging club work for the girls if "leaders can bé found. Treasurer's report was given. Program was in charge of the group leader Mrs. Kenneth Samells. The comments on the motto 'In Youth we learn, In Age we Understand", were also given by Mrs. Samells who read an interesting article on Indian affairs, and led a discussion on the same; Mrs. Hill gave a reading; Mrs, Russell Mountjoy gave current events, Mrs. Samells read a very timely extract from Ethel Chap- man's Book "From a Roadside Window". Meeting "Queen". The annual meeting of the United Church Sunday School was held in the C. E. room on Wednesday evening. Rev. Romeril opened meeting with seripture from Proverbs, a brief talk and prayer. Reports were heard from all depart- ments. On New Year's Day about 55 cousins met in the Recreations Centre and enjoyed two bounti- ful meals and numerous games and a good visit. Fair, P, PORT PERRY STAR, HEV TRIS IF SIT TA WAP STAIN Thursday, Jan. 13, 1965-9 Ontario County Milk The whole milk producers of Ontario County held a meeting in the Town Hall, Uxbridge, on Friday, January 7th, under the Ontario Department of Agricul- The main purpose of the meet- ing was to hear Mr, George Mec- Laughlin, Chairman of the Ont- ario Milk Marketing Board, ex- plain how the marketing of milk Milk Act, and for the purpose of electing a milk committee for Ontario County, Mr. McLaughlin stated that the Milk Marketing Board wants to work towards the crea- tion of two milk pools in the rovince; a Group 1 Pool to be made up initially of present fluid milk producers, and a Group 2 Pool to be made up of present industrial milk produe- ers. Conditions of entry should be established to allow qualified producers in one pool to trans- fer to the other as market con- ditions permit. The ultimate objective is to include all quali- fied producers of grade A milk in the Group 1 Pool. It is also hoped to establish a uniform price throughout southern Ontario for Class 1 milk (fluid milk for bottling purposes) and a uniform price for Class 2 milk (secondary fluid milk and industrial milk).
