Please plan to attend these meetings. On Saturday morning Ed. Till's tractor backfired and it started a fire in the implement shed. Neighbours were soon on the scene and had it under con- trol when the fire brigade ar- rived from Port Perry. Mrs. Barbara Virgin, Oshawa has been engaged as teacher of Grade Two, replacing Mrs. Sea- brook of Uxbridge. A number of local Junior Far- mers attended a Conference in Toronto last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Len Jarvis speat the week-end in North Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Beaton and family, Mrs. Wm. Beaton and family and Miss Sheila Fer- guson, all of Wick were recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Beaton. At the Ontario County Milk Producers' Meeting held in Ux- bridge, Mr. Neil Hunter was elected Vice-President and Mr. Morley Raines a Director of the Association. Mrs. Jewel Mills sustained a nasty fall recently but is recov- ering nicely at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Till. Hope she continues to improve. 'GREENBANK NE WS The date for that very import- ant Community meeting con ning the Hall has been set for Tuesday evening, January 18th at 8 o'clock. It is hoped there will be a full house. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McMillan of Uxbridge spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. A. McMillan. Mr. and Mrs. Danny Reesor of Scarborough were guests of Mr and Mrs. A. Couves on Sat. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hood and family of Whitby visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. H. McMillan. Mr. and Mrs. Hill of Little Britain spent Sunday with the Cookman family. Your scribe ofrgot last week to mention the very successful New Year's Eve Dance held ia the Hall. A large crowd atten- ded and welcomed in the New Year with all kinds of noise- makers and everybody reports a wonderful time. Mrs. Norman Smith, Uxbridge accompanied by Miss Carol of Toronto called on Mr. and Mrs. A. McMillan one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Graham of Toronto spent a few days re- cently at their country residence south of the village. Mr. Lorne Blakely attended the funeral of his uncle, Mr. Nelson Blakely who passed away recently in Toronto. COOKING /C completed.
