We welcome them to our community. N Guest Speaker At Baptist Church Dr. E. SIDNEY KERR speaks this Sunday at the Anniversary services of Port Perry Baptist Church. Dr. Kerr is the ener- getic pastor of Temple Baptist Church, Preston. Some twenty-five years ago, Mr. Kerr was a young egg salesman in Uxbridge. He re- gularly shared with his cus. tomers hig faith in Christ, urg- ing them to recognize their res- ponsibilitis to God. Frequently, he was asked to speak n the Free Methodist church of his town. These influences gave him an irresistable desire to be used more widely for God, and a short time later, he took his young family to Toronto. There, he entered the Toronto Baptist Seminary to train for the min- istry. Dr. Kerr has been effectively used as pastor of churches in Mount Albert, Maple Hill, Lon- don, Galt, and Montreal, Quebec, For two years he was President of Central Baptist Seminary, Toronto. During his present three year ministry in Preston, the Sunday School has grown from 70 to 250 attendance each week. Four years ago Dr. Kerr vi- sited the Baptist church, and at that time his son Paul was with the Seminary Men's Quartet, A trail blazer in his own right, Paul has gone to India as one of the first missionaries under the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada.
